I've felt much more detached from the club over the past couple of seasons too

We're not rubbish "at the moment". We've been rubbish for all bar three of the last 15 seasons! Now we have a team we can't relate to, a disaster of a manager who's probably more loathed than any in living memory, and a board of hopeless amateurs. Oh, and we now boast a record of five FA Cup ties won in our past 14 campaigns; and a League Cup record that is somehow even worse. Top stuff eh?
