Twenty two years ago on a dull dreary Saturday my partner and I were bored so we took ourseves down to Carrow Road, bought tickets in the Barclay and watched Norwich v Derby, an uninspiring game but we were hooked.
When my daughters visited on their weekends they demanded to go in the Barclay and they were hooked until they went to Uni.
From that time on we have cheered the Club on at Aarnhem, Munich and Milan,
Cried for the Liverpool fans at Hillsborough whilst caught in the crushes at Villa Park.
Seen the team victorious at Anfield on the last day of the real Kop
Cried at the heroics of Gunny playing on so soon after the death of his daughter
Cheered when the "chains came off the gates" as DS and MJW rescued the Club
Cheered even at the failure at two Cup Semi-finals and a Playoff final and celebrated in front of City Hall but last night we left Carrow Road in total dejection.
We still have the Barclay but we have lost our club, we have lost our team and are in danger of losing our abiding passion for all things NCFC. No cheers only tears lie ahead.
If we feel this when we have only invested our emotion I can hardly bear to think what it must be like if that emotion has been coupled with your personal millions.
Ramble over.
