...in my view between mates all kinds of offensive words get thrown around - in the Army or elsewhere. If the target of the term didn't take offence at the time it does seem a little silly for everyone else to be doing so vicariously three years later.
That said, "Paki" is a highly offensive, racist term and anyone who uses it can't be unaware of that - you'd expect a member of the Royal Family to know better than to use it even "off the record" because they never really are.
One day he could be the head of our multi-ethnic state and have the credibility and gravitas to lead and unite the entire nation. He needs to think about that from time to time. Especially given that he's previously been seen wearing a Nazi uniform "for a laugh".
So although the reaction may seem OTT he REALLY has to get his s**t together on this.
