Against my better judgement...

I decided to go today.

I told myself I'd only be returning disappointed, but Nasie Jr was keen to go, so we went.

New Year, same old s**t I'm afraid.

Two evenly matched teams today, with neither really threatening very much. Ironically I'd say we had the better chances, but as usual can't score for f**king toffee.

Too much pretty football at times, passing the ball around but doing f**k all with it. No penetration, little off the ball running, no idea of what to do in the final third.

Little Wes stood out for me today, ran and ran and ran all afternoon. He wanted it... not many others did.

Ginger Pele and Grounds were quite solid on the whole... but a soft goal given away again started by Semi's inability to put a f**king tackle in which allowed the cross... and we were caught short yet again on the back stick giving Henderson pretty much a free header. Basic schoolboy stuff... not rocket science!

I also thought Loopy was well up for it today. He did try, but really didn't get the service. Sibierski offered next to nothing all afternoon, and I noticed a bit of needle between the two at one stage during the second half. Then Sib runs out of steam and has to be carried off.

Bell looked more useful when he came on in place of Sibierski, but by this stage it was too late to really effect anything.

Sammy didn't have his best game today. Was trying, but tended to give the ball away, or lose it too much.

We shot ourselves in the foot by trying to rush set pieces all through the game, and ended up giving the ball away rather than threatening their goal.

Semi lumbered around all game, often wansering out of position... Doc had to run across and cover more than once.

Bertrand was a waste of space. Offered us nothing all game.

I felt numb as Nasie Jr and I walked away at the end. Not because we lost, but because it was f**kern freezing. Losing doesn't surprise me anymore. I'm used to it. I've seen us play alot worse... Wolves away the day Shackell and Brellier got sent off, and we just couldn't be f**ked that day.

There was some effort today, and the frustrating thing is we could have won that game. Their supporters very very quiet, our boys and girls in fine voice yet again all game... including a half-hearted "Roeder Out" chant at the end.

Hate to say it, but we're going down. We're just not good enough, and we can't score goals.

CTID.
