Pattison was lucky?

Obviously noone knows the particular risks each driver took, and probably never will, but in my view the actual crime is when you get in the car, when you take that risk with other people's lives. Just because Pattison did not hit anybody does not make him a better person, it just makes him lucky that no-one was driving the tother way..
