At times yesterday we dominated and made Preston look a very poor side. But yet again we lack the killer instinct. After another crap goalkeeper/defender error letting them take the lead we fought back well and were in charge of the game for 40-50 mins.
However, AGAIN, we didnt take our chances, we had some bad luck with injuries, and GR decides to make one of the worst substitutions I've ever seen bringing on Jamie instead of Lupoli. What does this boy have to do to get a game. He has 3 goals to his name this season and would be a far better choice than JC due to his pace, his eye for goal and his hunger to prove GR wrong.
When Russell gets sent off (an idiotic push to the face from our supposed leader - maybe learning his disipline from roeder) the team fall apart. We ship a goal and suddenly dont even look like scoring. Now why is this?? COuld it be that we have an abundance of loan players? What if we had a team full of NCFC owned players who play for the shirt? would we have capitulated and not tryed to build an attack in the final 10 minutes then? I sincerely doubt it.
The truth of the matter is that although Glenn's intentions were to bring premiership class to our side, I'm afraid it has gone horribly wrong. We have a team who don't play for the shirt, who are here only to get fit or because they are not good enough for their own teams. Its a disgrace to the name of this football club and to our fans that this is occuring and needs to be rectified in the Jan transfer window by BUYING some hungry, decent League 1 players and maybe stumping up some cash for Lita (as if DS will do this). If this does not happen we will be back to square one with 17,000 attendances next year and a whole squad to overhall.
What has happened to this football club I've loved for so long???
