I'm surprised Brand/Ross haven't trotted out the "you've taken it out of context" line yet

Perhaps Brand is (just about) capable of enough self-awareness to realise that, in this case, the context actually makes it much worse, and he'd do best to keep quiet about it.

I've always hated that defence anyway - the only one that's weaker is trying to link your opponent to Hitler.

Which, incidentally, was the angle he took.
