...Not great, not the worst game I've been to so far this season (Barnsley) but not good either.
First up the defence, lacked leadership, Stef and Kennedy weren't at the races, Olmouzi was poor, Berty was the best defender and made some probing runs.
Hoolahoop was garbage today, I wasn't at Wolves but I understand he played well, well this evening he was at his very worse, nothing going forward, stood in nothing positions off the ball, gave the ball away and showed no vision.
Similarly Sibs, he was poor as well, not strong or quick enough and he never seemed to be wanting the ball, more run in the opposite direction of any space.
We seemed to be zonal marking today which was a poor decision, as the Derby strikers were able to bring down almost every single ball unchallenge.
The midfield lacked any snap in the first half, Rusty was off form.
Lita, my god, if he was offside even half of the 4 billion times he was called offside he needs a slap! Missed a very good opening at 2-1, when he should have at least made the keeper work (I know you can't expect strikers to always hit the target or score penalties but you can make keepers work at least). Other than that he worked pretty hard but i wasn;t overly impressed
Clingan and Croft were the bright lights of the game, maybe Patty as well but he went off the boil towards the end.
I wasn't overly impressed with Bell, he looked OK on the ball, I liked that he always tried to skin his man, but why wouldn;t he cross? He constantly played a short ball back or towards the centre halves, he has a good cross on him but he wasn;t showing it overly today.
Roeder should take some credit for taking the worse players off at half time, Patty bossed the midfield and should start on Saturday.
Rusty up front? What's the point!
As for Derby, Can;t see them doing anything and enjoyed singing "You're still the worst team in history" to them! Kris Commons looks good and the striker were OK. Derby's centre halves has an easy day, they easily dealt with our long ball game in the first half and were on the back foot for a 20 minute spell in the second half.
We were bad in the first but came out fighting in the second. We passed the ball well and created openings and chances.
Some people will argue the toss that it's the thrid game in a week for these players but to that i say this, they are professional athletes and should be able to cope with 270 minutes of football in a week and we had credible alternatives in the squad, Doc, Loopy, Koroma even Fozzy i feel would have done ok tonight.
Each keeper made 1 excellent save but other than that weren't really tested, Marshall tried to make it 4 to Derby by gifting the ball to a derby striker only for him to shoot wide.
Cracking away attendance must have been over 1000.
So why can't we play like we did for the opening 20 minutes of the second half for the whole match?
Anyway Burnley on Saturday, hope we can get something.
