Iwas going to compose a detailed and considered response

to this..... prompted by the warm and nostalgic memories that Graham Paddon's recent death re-kindled in me - about watching football from the early seventies onwards , but then the reality kicked in ....of;

not being able to see,
having to get to the ground 2 -3 hours before kick-off,
being crushed,
having my leg regularly pissed upon by lazy drunk tossers who couldn't be arsed to fight their way to the loos....
etc etc

however many good things about watching football back then (and there were many), standing wasn't one of them..
