First Time Rant

I know its a long post for a newbie, but I got up at 4am this morning to watch that rubbish and have had to endure the taunts of the great Australian public all day. I am now in the process of getting nice and drunk, but HAVE to get this off my chest first.

Reading the posts about the England game, I think people are pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Yes McClaren made some fundamental mistakes, and yes he is s**t, but the responsibility lies with the FA. They have ruined our sport on both a club (unless you are Man U / Chelsea / Liverpool / Arsenal etc) and country level through mind boggling levels of incompetence that make our board look clever by comparison.

- At a time of unprecedented levels of money in our game, more than half the clubs in the league have been in administration. The FA were supposed to ensure that money was evenly distributed, but supported the Premiership breakaway as a political move against the Football League. Absolute c**ts.

- The only excuse they had for supporting the Premiership was the reduction of the top league from 22 clubs to 18, thus reducing the workload on the players therefore strengthening the England team. They have failed to enforce this.

- One of the reasons for setting up the FA was to ensure that money wasn't taken out of the game, club Directors weren't supposed to be able to make a profit from the game. Well they have failed to enforce that one, haven't they.

- The FA are supposed to help nurture young talent to ensure we always have a good crop of young players coming through. The academy system produces players who can't control the ball, can't pass, and defend too deep (see its not just Norwich). The England team just doesn't have depth of quality.

- The previous generation of England players learn't their trade in the lower leagues, getting bought up by the first division clubs when they knew the game and could play at higher levels. Currently, we can't field a first 11 who regularly start for their club. All the good young talent get snapped up by the top half Premiership teams, and sit on the bench or play in the reserves, and learn f**k all. Why are we surprised they are s**t for England?

- For some reason we can't generate good managers. Who is the best manager in England right now? Allerdyce? Curbishley? ? Decent managers both but that is it. No champions league experience, so not enough international experience. FFS get a foreign coach next time. Lets get a program to help our managers get to the next level.

We don't deserve to be at Euro 2008, we aren't good enough, and its the FAs fault through decades of mis-management.
