£2,000 gone in 45 minutes from that s**thole Seven Sisters corner shop...
Police won't be interested - you used to have to get a crime reference number before the bank would pay out.
Contact Nationwide asap and ask to speak to the fraud department. They may need to extend your overdraft to sort out the mess - but you will be refunded.
Oh, and this will haunt you for the rest of your days with Nationwide. Not only will it stay on your record, you will be monitored much more closely. So expect your card to be cancelled if they suspect it's being used suspiciously, even if you are buying lots of things online
You'll get letters for every single direct debit set up on your account 'please be aware that ____ has set up a direct debit, please confirm..'
Your debit card may be refused if the chip starts getting scratched, as it did with mine - they had to send me a new card as it was swallowed by an ATM because of it.
But they just want to be sure, I guess.
Good luck with it all, and be more careful in future.
