Where did the rot begin?

A few ideas about what I think has contributed to this club ending up in this position:

1) Our season in the Prem: Delia's "we're here for the ride" statement smacked of no ambition and quite frankly summed up our season, abysmal. Admittedly, when we went up, I didn't expect us to do well and I thought we'd struggle all season. However, I expected a lot more from the club; the fact that it took until November to win a f**king game and that we didn't look remotely interested in staying up until April says a lot. Equally, a pathetic capitulation on the final day of the season which just about summed up how the club had the f**ked up the Premiership season. This is where I think it began; the rot was triggered here and has been exacerbated by various events.

2) The summer of 2005: The 05/06 was probably this football club's best chance to get back into the Premiership and we f**ked that up big time as well. I'll never forgive Nigel Worthington for the way he handled things in the transfer market and the pathetic excuses for players he brought in. Equally, the board need to be held to account for sticking with him too long (I can see why they did it too and I don't think it was done to loyalty, more like long-term stability) as well as letting him spunk s**t loads of money on s**t players.

3) Peter Grant: why the f**k was he given the job in the first place? Admittedly, I admired him in some ways, but the guy was a f**king disaster who put this club back about 5 years. If you appoint a novice and go for a cheap option, don't be surprised if what you get doesn't live up to your expectations.

4) The inability of our chief executive to negotiate transfer dealings and his apparent lack of knowledge about money.

5) The lack of leadership from the board.

I could go on.... Rant over.
