but then it always was. I've always identified with teams that have players like Dunc, or Keith Bertschin, or Matty Svennson, or Malky, or Iwan who played as if they meant it, as if they understood the sacrifice that we make. This present team is full of players who either don't give a toss, or who are so s**t that they appear not to give a toss.
Yesterday's performance was an absolute disgrace - excluding Taylor (who has his own reasons for trying) and Crofty and Chrissy Brown the rest minced about as if they hadn't got a care in the world. We have no chance whatsoever of staying up with this lot - someone needs to work out what the hell is wrong with Norwich City.
Why is it that none of our young players make it - how has Chris Martin gone from being a wonderful prospect to Ryan Jarvis in less than a year? Why can Jimmy Smith do so well at QPR yet transparently not bother at all when he comes here?
Brellier and Shackell are a disgrace. Both should have gone again yesterday.
Anyone that thinks bringing in a couple of loans in the next couple of weeks will sort it out is deluding themselves, and anyone that thinks we will do a Leeds next year is equally deluded. Most of these players don't even play to Conference standard. Of the 11 that started yesterday on current form only Otsemobor and possibly Cureton and Croft would get in the Histon team.
And frankly I'm sick of PR stunts. It's easy to stroll round the pitch at the derby game having just appointed a new manager - Delia and Michael and Doncaster didnt come near us yesterday.
Somebody needs to look at the whole club from top to bottom. How do we assess the fitness of players we sign? Croft cannot do 90 minutes - did we know that when we bought him?
What is wrong with the Academy? Why do most of our players end up at Lynn or Wroxham. Danny Wright from Dereham is now banging in goals in the Conference - why have we never looked at him?
