to be fair to Grant

he supposedly did have somebody poised to come in as the new first team coach, but he wanted to wait until his own position was more secure before getting the new bod to give up his current job to come to us, just in case it all went tits-up and he got sacked 2 weeks later (as more or less happened) and then the new bod would probably be out on his ear as soon as the new manager started bringing in his own people
