that managers and clubs have an old fashioned view that players should go to training then home to their lovely wife and children and stay out of trouble
I suppose you could argue if Michael Ricketts didn't love the women cars and beer so much, he would have been the player who was in the England shirt, and not the bloke sacked by Southend's physio for being in mcdonalds.
A lot of Norwich fans think Mulryne wasted a good thing. I'm a little different with that, I sometimes think players heads just go, and they can't mentally get it back to play at the top (Eddie Newton, Paul Parker. Two players that just disappeared down the leagues from being at the top level, Joachim maybe, Mark Stein possibly)
In what Roeder has said, many do tow the line, though he feels it's gone too far now and a small proportion don't want to play at the weekend cos they'd rather be at home
