If a footballer has more than one GCSE.. do his teammates still call him "Bamber" ?

Remember reading old program notes and the featured player would always say " micky (or whoever) has an exam pass at school so we call him Bamber " and "Toughest opponent " would be "Smithy in training" , "Favourite food" would be "Steak and chips"
