And yet he won innumerable headers. I really don't understand it. My THEORY is that (a) he is so experienced and good that he often gets into just the right position; and (b) he is so big that defenders simply can't nudge/barge/shove him out of position - they just bounce off him; and (c) to get the ball they would have to jump forwards and lean over him, and they know that would give away a free kick.
So yes -- he can't jump, and yet he is good in the air. It's Conundrum Corner.
