Um, as I understand it, he's from Hong Kong...

Which is, granted, part of China now, but wasn't when he was growing up and wholly different from the rest of China. Sure he's from a different culture, but while he's here and got nothing better to do, wouldn't it maybe be interesting for him to discover a little of our culture?
