Point 1) Did he actually get Watford relegated? He left them in Feb with 18 games left - that's 54 points available to play for.

Point 2) If he can fashion a "late-season run" by beating "mid-table teams...(with) nothing to play for" I would be absolutely chuffed. Bearing in mind our current inability to take points off anyone it is amazing that people should be so bloody picky.
And, statistically, in his "flattering" season at Watford they tooks points off ALL of the six teams that finished above them, [2 pts off champs Boro, and 4 pts off Wolves (4th) and Barnsley (6th)]

Point 4) He knows football; he knows talent (Kevin Philips signed for 10 grand? That's a good spot) and he has been in this situ before.

Pretty much everyone agrees that Grant - a young talented coach with no managerial experience - was the wrong choice last year. Now that the board have appointed his polar opposite I think they have gained themselves some breathing space.
