Don't see why it's odd at all

They're clearly adopting a whole new strategy under continental ownership. I'm expecting them to spend plenty of lire in January too, and they should - should - get out of it, as I imagine will Palace, Leicester and Wednesday. If you ask me, the sides we need to keep an eye on are Coventry, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Blackpool, Hull and Colchester: I suspect we'll have to finish above three of them in order to stay up.
