This stuff about Jewell on the rivals site

Two different people posted the same news at the same time - so I don't think it's some elaborate windup. And Matt McCann is Wigan's Director of Communications, who has doubtless kept in touch with Jewell since he parted from the club so amicably. Why would he make such a claim on the radio if he didn't believe it was true?

I think there's something in this: I really do. I know Dave Whelan said there was nothing to stop Jewell taking a job before Nov 1 - but a) I bet there'd be compo involved if he did; and b) he's been in Dubai on holiday with his family anyway. Remember, he specifically quit Wigan due to stress, so he's surely always had the intention of enjoying a sustained break: plus we (or Leicester) need him much more than he needs us. I don't see any reason to doubt what McCann has apparently said; and while there are doubtless various 'I's to dot and 'T's to cross, I think it could well be true.

Otherwise, how come he's STILL the bookies favourite? He's joined small, family oriented clubs before - and I'm now more hopeful than since the very start of this process that he could be joining us this coming week. Please God, let it be true!
