Hmm.. I didn't accuse

them of not interviewing enough alternatives. I didn't think Grant was the right man then but I did hope he was.

I seem to have a reputation for moaning but there has, unfortunately, been a lot to moan about hasn't there?

Believe me I'm a diehard City fan and have been for 40 years. I would love not to moan but it's hard when you see some of what's been going on.

I really believe, like you, that this is an absolutely vital appointment (as indeed it was last time, but now even more so because of where we are) and my worry is that we don't seem to know who (or even what type of manager) we want - I just don't think Duffy should have been given three games.

Hindsight is, of course, a wonderful thing but I said a year ago and it's been proved right, that Grant was a cheap option and the Board showed a real lack of football nous then (even if they did consult Dave Stringer). This time they seem paralysed by fear, consulting left, right and centre (if Waghorn is to be believed) and it seems they are so determined to look at all the options they are dithering. It's like when you buy a house; if you look at too many it becomes impossible but if you know what you want you can go out and get it.

So sorry if you think it's just moaning. I suppose I'm just fed up with all the uncertainty and I'm really worried that we'll lose more games while we wait. (But I'll still be making the two away trips!!!)
