'On occasion, a familiar WotB regular will retire from the site, usually after an embarrassing drunken episode, which transcends the blub category and becomes an über-blub. After such an affair, the retiree will post a valedictory message, which often takes on a tone of superiority ("you're all gaylords anyway", "this site isn't as good as it was when I posted on Stewart's old site in 1996", "I didn't fancy Steve in Holland anyway") which can easily be read as a thinly-veiled cover for the poster's acute embarrassment.

It is customary practice for the retiring poster to lurk for a while, and then start posting under a different username, until everyone realises that it is a poster that has previously retired and welcomes him/her back into the fold.'
