but for what it's worth I do think £1.5 million was a good deal financially. But it's not so much whether it was £1 million or whatever it's the fact that the clause allowed him to leave which was clearly against the wishes of Grant and the other players - notably Huckerby. And it's also that Grant was not given the money to replace him.

And I as I said - despite what Doncaster might claim - there was no element of luck involved.
