Non-footballing costs though is a difficult one. Short term they always have a 'why the f**k' about them.
But these people are not stupid - they know the team needs investing in.
You mention Chase as well. Dont get me wrong, I'm not a lover of his (in fairness I remember relatively little about him as I wasnt as close to it then), but if it wasnt for his non-footballing activities and purchases - we'd be in far more s**t now than we actually are.
Of course the counter argument is - if he'd spent that money on players, then we wouldnt have got into the s**t in the first place...
I dont know the answer to that one. The comparison between Leicester (Norwich), and Portsmouth is always a good one, but I tend to hink they got lucky with the manager, we didnt. They survived the 1st season. We didnt. The rest is history.
