The Logic Of David Platt

The old adage goes 'Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach'.

You could easily apply the same to football, but for 'teach' read 'pundit'.

And for Exhibit A, Mediawatch refers you to one David Platt.

His nonsense continually receives the oxygen of publicity, despite gems like the following from The Daily Mirror:

"There's talk about formation, about balance but you must pick your best eleven players. Frank Lampard is still one of the best midfielders in the country."

Despite our obvious reservations about Fat Frank, Mediawatch would probably concede that he is a better footballer than Paul Robinson. Therefore, following Platt's logic, Lampard should be lining up between the sticks in Moscow on Wednesday.
