True about the schools. However, I think they have a much

decreased influence these days.
Nearly all of the guys my son plays with (in Cambridge) went to schools that didn't play rugby. Provided the local clubs have good kids set ups, it becomes simply another thing for the kids to do, like swimming club, gymnastics, dancing, music etc. Generally the provision of sport in schools is so s**t, even for football, that it has little bearing on what sports kids take up.
