I was thinking about that the other day

Liverpool-style continuity worked because we were, quite simply, a successful club. Somehow, Bond/Brown/Stringer/Walker were all natural follow-ons. But then, disastrously, we tried it one more time just as things were starting to go wrong - and should've immediately abandoned this strategy when Deehan didn't work out.

Instead, would you believe the last time we actually went for a proven manager was Bruce Rioch nine years ago? It's ludicrous, and a terrible indictment of how our board has operated.
