Steve Staunton's "contacts"

are players we couldn't afford, players we wouldn't want and players who wouldn't come here anyway.

I fail to see how his appointment would help us one jot, when it's fairly clear we need someone in who can command respect, sign little known lower league quality on a shoestring, and generally turn round a failing, underachieving yet talented team in a few weeks so that we start moving well away from the bottom three, all without viable funds.

And Roy Keane's taken by the way.

Personally, I don't think we're gonna get the right bloke this time either. Just someone who can slightly improve our current form so's we don't actually go down. That's still not Steve f**king Staunton though.
