before they get better.
It doesn't take a genius to realise things aren't what they should be on Planet NCFC both on and off the pitch. There is a malaise affecting the club that neither the manager nor the Board seem able or willing to do anything about.
I have heard the rumour about the possibility of the Simon Cullum takeover but at this moment in time I don't know whether to believe it or not. I suppose its possible that there is some truth in it but whether that actually extends to a takeover or not is anyone's guess.
The fact it has been reported in more than one forum including Richard Balls column suggests there is some credence to it but that could be just wishful thinking on my part. If it does turn out to be rubbish, it has to be the most substantial unsubstantiated rumour for many a year.
The inescapable fact is that this club, despite all the obvious advantages it has had in recent years, is in a steady and terminal decline. Try as they might, the current custodians have been unable to arrest it. I happen to believe that everything they have done has been with the best of intentions but they have just made a series of wrong turns pretty much since we got promoted that have ultimately left us where we are now. If they can be accused of anything it is the crime of thinking a little too small when the big prize was within their grasp
The real tragedy is that there is so much potential locked up in this club that is not being realised. The large and loyal fanbase is just one part of this. If there is a sugar daddy out there somewhere, it is ready and waiting for he/she to come and unlock it.
Another piece of good news for you. QPR have taken Pompey defender Crainie on loan in time for tomorrow night's match.
