when we made mistakes at the back

Flem was always never at fault, so Malky was the scapegoat

I'm not saying he wasn't popular in his whole time, but there were times when fans were on his back a lot

When we sold him to west ham, the attitude was he wasn't good enough for the prem anyway, so £250k was bargain money

It's only in hindsight and his achievements at West Ham and Watford that make people think "oh he should have stayed here", it really wasn't like that at the time
