message for Dick Balls

Dick, I suspect you'll be struggling for material for your next column, so here are some ideas:

When was the last time we went five games without a goal? Well, it didn’t happen under Worthingon, or Hamilton, or even under Megson. It didn’t happen when Stringer’s side were sliding towards the bottom 3 in 91/2, or when we got relegated in 1981 or 1974.
It last happened in early 1973 and the run finished in our Lge Cup Final defeat to Spurs. So, to summarise, our worst scoring run for 35 years.

Has anyone in the entire Football league scored less than us? (5 goals in 9 games) No, no-one. Even Mansfield, bottom of the entire pile with four pts from nine games, have scored seven.
Our record of failing to score in five games is also a Football League 'best'.

Have we come up against good sides? Far from it. We have played only two matches against sides placed higher than tenth in the table. And when we play QPR that ratio will sink still further.

Are Hull good at home? No, only one home win this season.
Are Sheff Weds good on the road? No, they only have three away points this season.

Are our crowds staying steady? No, Tuesday saw our lowest league crowd at Carrow Road since the new South Stand was finished – that’s nearly four years.

Does Peter Grant know a good striker when he sees one? I'll let you judge, but Peter Thorne made 18 starts for City, and he scored in two of them; Chris Brown has now started 15 games (and played the full 90 minutes in eight of them) and has yet to find the net.

Dick, we know you didn’t like Hamilton; we know you hated Worthington; and we know that, as the man who replaced Worthington, the sun shines out of PG’s ar5e but can you, just for a few seconds, take off those tartan-tinted specs and dole out some of your customary misery-ridden bile in the direction of the current manager and his signings and tactics?

Loving You
jayson.
