I do have Sound now, I did system restore and it came back. I can't honestly say I know what drivers etc were deleted as I know nothing about computers but there were various things it deleted in the process of trying to establish Vista on the computer.

All I know is DVDs won't work on Real Player (Black screen) or WMP

So here is what I have:

AUDIO CODECS
LEGACY AUDIO DRIVERS
LEGACY VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICES
MEDIA CONTROL DEVICES
SIGMATEL HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO CODEC
VIDEO CODEC
