thoughts on Saturday

First game attended this season and I was not impressed by many things

1 I didn;t think Marshall was as commanding as I had been led to believe , maybe his defence isn;t helping him , but looked unsure to me

2 Otsemobor and Drury - not sure whether they have been told to attack constantly or not , they never seemed to be confident in what they are doing - not sure how Otsemobor got man of teh match

3 Doherty and Murray - Doherty looked okay defensively , but put the ball at his feet , give him time to think and he looked awful - Murray was my MOM , looked assured and solid in every aspect

4 Huckerby - worst I have ever seen him play - can;t be fully fit , if he is fully fit then no point playing him

5 Spillane and Rossi - Spillane is going to be a star , he is excellent in midfield and seen him in defence for reserves where he was also assured - Rossi , needs more meat , but has potential - not sure why Russell was dropped to accommodate both of them

6 Lappin - biggest disappointment , appeared clueless and dead ball delivery was shocking

7 Cureton and Brown - Never looked like scoring at all - Cureton does at least look willing and keen , Brown tried hard but not really skilful enough

Overall , it appears that we have a very poor team , and squad , playing without any confidence and probablyt receiving mixed messages from above , Wednesday had Johnson , Kavanagh and Watson - who basically ran the show - we had nothing at all

I am worried that with or without Grant , we face a struggle - any new man would only have the same players to work with until January
