16th last season is close to our worst since then - and this year, we look quite a bit worse. How many times in the '60s were we SERIOUSLY threatened by relegation (ie. in a real dogfight all season)? Not many. Yet Norwich minus the Huckerby, Dublin and Martin of last season = League One, as we're all sadly discovering.
As for Archie Mac being our greatest ever: it's hardly that dramatic a deduction, you know! The club finished bottom of the entire Football League and only Geoffrey Watling stopped it being wound up in 1957. Two seasons later, we were embarking on one of the most extraordinary FA Cup runs any English club has ever enjoyed; then we went up, and the man even had us in contention for promotion to the top flight before leaving! A legend, by anyone's definition.
