the financial problems have stemmed from bad FOOTBALLING decisions made by Worthy after they stuck with him too long.
However I can understand why they stuck with him, even if I didn't agree with it. He had got them a playoff final and Championship so sticking with him after relegation made a bit of sense (Charlton got repromoted after sticking with Curbnishley, Baggies did after sticking with Megson). He should have goen at the end of that first season down rather than waiting until October. Although it could be said that by then the damage was done anyway. If Ashton had been replaced by a quality big striker rather than the midget Earnshaw it might have been very different. To me that was THE key bad decision since relegation.
