its a two way thing

mistakes have certainly been made recently. However it is easy to forget that without their financial management etc in the first half of this decade and appointment of Worthy (when most fans - as now - wanted someone higher profile) we would probably never have had even that one season in the Prem and the club would be far more f***ed financially than we are now (after all, we'd still have had to replace the South Stand).
So it is quite possible to BOTH:
a) criticise them for things not being better than they are
b) praise them for things not being worse than they are

The other (often unspoken) truth is that there isn't much alternative to them. People weren't exactly queuing up to throw money at us.
