Morning Ladies,
This guff about wages and geography is yet another smoke-screen coming out of NCFC.
Simply put, Norwich is still an attractive destination - the county is very nice, the city is not a footie-obsessed goldfish bowl, we are only 2 hrs from London or midlands and (importantl;y) we pay above-average wages.
For every Strihavka who takes the risk and signs, there is a Paolo Vernazza who just doesn't fancy it.
And please can we knock this wages excuse on the head once and for all - it is bollox. For at least the last decade City have offered above-average wages (why else would Peter Thorne drag his limpet-encrusted body from west to east?)
No-one else in our division has 20,000 STs, so only Charlton, Sheff Utd, Watford and WBA should be able to out spend us.
I suspect the transfer-windows and the easy accessibility of rumours / news makes the club feel they have to justify not signing players, when anyone with a modicum of sense realises that no club in the world signs every player it hopes to.
And to think, Trevor Senior could have been a City legend...
