It is well known that, especially in the "west", teenage pregnancy is predominantly among those with lesser education (which can often, although not exclusively, be linked with upbringing).
I don't have time to go and find you more statistics than I already did (pretty good stats I'd say), but just look around you.
My wife deals with them every day in a country which has a significantly lower teenage pregnancy rate than the UK, and the story is much the same.
Yes, the media does over-play it still further, but it is still extremely high in the UK compared to other western european countries.
