My View

I think we are in for a long hard season after seeing today. I thought Cardiff were a poor side but we still somehow managed to lose.

I seriously have my doubts about Grant.

Upfront
Chris Brown is never going to score goals I'm afraid. He works hard but does not seem to be able to get off the ground when he jumps so does not win as much in the air as he should.

Jamie C makes great runs and will score if he gets the service but with Lappin and Chadwick on the wings neither of them are going to get to the beat a fullback for pace and get to the byline.

Midfield
Russell and Brellier both do their jobs ok but in my opinion they can't be play together as a 2 in the centre of midfield as neither of them put there foot on the ball and create things.

Lappin is neat and tidy I just wish he had a bit of pace as he would be a great player then.

Chadwick is slow and weak. Why does he always turn back instead of taking his man on. Also he is so predictable he always heads infield when he gets the ball.

There is a serious lack of pace and invention in the midfield which is very worrying.

Defence

Dion is Dion although he admitted he was at fault for not picking up the man for the 2nd goal. I think this was because he was trting to help the Doc.

Semi has great pace but did not use it much after one or two great overlapping runs in the 1st half.

Dury is so weak and wet it is unbelivable. How many times does he get muscled off the ball. He defends ok but is a very average player and on occasions allows his winger to get crosses in when he should get tighter to his winger.

Doc was ok today but still hangs on to strikers and misses sitters! To think this bloke as played up front for the Rep of Ireland!

Grant
Got his tactics all wrong today. Also he needs to realise that he is never going to win his feud with Hucks. This is a major issue in the camp at the mo.
