What annoyed me yesterday about the coverage of the relegation games on Sky ...

The commentator on the Blades vs. Pie Eaters game: "What league in the world could deliver this level of excitement?"

Well, off the top of my head, just about ANY FUCKING LEAGUE IN THE WORLD with a final-position based relegation system. And I doubt relegation is any easier to take in those which have relegation play-offs or other systems. Sky: Cunts.

"Ah, but ... " I can hear the inevitable apologist bleating already, "... there's more money at stake in dropping out of the EPL than any other league in the world."

Yes, but does that actually make the slightest difference to the excitement? Not to me certainly, and not to the majority of others I'd wager. Would yesterday's coverage have been half as exciting if there was only £15m at stake? Twice if it was a £60m difference in potential earnings? Would it f**k.

None of us would have cared, would we, getting relegated by losing 6-0 at Fulham, if the money we stood to gain by staying up wasn't much? Yeah, right.
