Before his Twin Squirrel landed prematurely, I used to act for Matthew Harding. He was on the Chelsea board; had wodges; but wouldn't put any SERIOUS money in without getting some control. Ken Bates was happy to take his money as much as he could, but wasn't going to give him control.

So you had a few good Mexican stand offs in the board in private, and both of them playing the PR game against each other in public ("I would love to invest more but Ken is freezing me out", "Why won't Matthew help the club he claims to love?" etc etc ).

It could happen!
