don't know about their fanbase - you could ask XXL. Prior to that Bristol City went bankrupt in 1982. It does happen.
Personally I'd be surprised if the scum attracted a huge foreign investor - despite the huge TV moneys most premier league clubs don't make a profit I think, and the scum have few assets. Plenty of more attractive propositions out there.
