Scotland Under-20 3 Austria Under-20 1

The second act of the double header was a different affair as a much stronger and physical Austrian side who made all the early running in the Under 20 international. However, it was Scotland who took the lead in 21 minutes through the persistence of Hibs kid Ross Campbell, who won the ball on the right touchline and his powerful cross flew over the visiting keeper into the top corner for the opening goal. The Austrians could have equalised almost immediately, but an outstanding save by Scott Fox of Celtic kept out Dollinger's shot from close range.

With several changes at half time, Scotland were rejuvenated and stormed into a two goal lead in 48 minutes. Chisholm was the provider this time, his pass finding Mark Reynolds inside the box, and the Motherwell man's superb turn and shot into the net displayed outstanding technique. Scotland seemed comfortably ahead but let the visitors back into the game with 15 minutes left, as a wild Scott Cuthbert passback was only parried by Fox and Erwin Hoffer was sharp enough to head in the rebound from the edge of the box. But Scotland had the last laugh as Ross Campbell netted with a penalty in 80 minutes after Calum Elliot was fouled by the goalkeeper.

Scotland have one more international, at home to Northern Ireland on 24 May, again at Firhill, before their World Cup campaign in July.

Scotland: Fox, Cave-Brown, Lowing (Considine 46), Adams, Cuthbert (Kenneth (81), Reynolds (Lynch 81), McCann (Ross 46), Chisholm (Conroy 61), Dorrans, Fletcher (Elliot 46), Campbell.
