SOUTHEND RES 0-3 NORWICH RES
CITY'S young reserves stormed to a 3-0 win away at Southend thanks to goals from Andrew Cave-Brown, Kris Renton and Robert Eagle.
The Canaries were 2-0 ahead inside the first half. Cave-Brown pounced on 28 minutes to slot in off the far post after fine work from Damon Lathrope, with Kris Renton doubling the advantage five minutes before the break with a close range finish.
The home side came back strongly in the second half, and it took some resolute defending from Matthew Halliday and Alvin Quaye to keep the Shrimpers out, with 'keeper Steven Arnold also producing some smart saves.
But the win was secure five minutes from time when Robert Eagle slotted home, completing a fine victory for Ricky Martin's men.
Norwich City Reserves: Arnold, Cave-Brown, O'Toole, Lathrope, Quaye, Halliday, Smart (Byrne), Bexfield (Kelly), Renton, Muddel (Miller), Eagle. Subs not used: Daley, McLean.
