It used to be that the half dozen or so pubs in the village would all turf out at the same time, leading to an 11pm - midnight scramble for taxis into Sheff, or people just going home.
Now that the pubs are open until whenever, it's much safer to wander round at night, much easier to get a cab, and importantly for boring old bastards like myself, we don't get a concentration of rucking teenagers parading past the house any more. They still parade past the house, but they're not rucking any more, and therefore much quieter.
