Having lived in four countries that have long drinking hours

and one that didn't until recently, I have to agree with Steve. It may take a few years to have a similar affect in the UK; but I think it will - I'm convinced that turfing everybody out of the pubs at 11pm after they've consumed their last two pints in 20 minutes was directly related to drinking related violence.

We'll forget that unfortunate incident with the taxi-driver just before Christmas ...
