Dave in France' post further down re credit card scams

I used my company card to fill up in Peterboro and The fine city last month and some one used my card details to try to take £200 out on consecutive days. HSBC picked it up and called me to see if i'd made payments to a hotel in Gibralter, which obviously I hadn't.

Seems they took about a fiver out a week before (some internet betting site) and when that wasn't picked up decided to up the stakes a bit. So if you use cards at petrol stations it's well worth checking even small amounts taken out.
