He's already said he doesn't like playing the kids just for the sake of playing the kids.

He thinks that a first team start for a youngster should be a real landmark, something to value and work hard for, and reading between the lines it looks like he thinks that "you might as well play the kids, it's nothing game at the end of the season" would devalue that.

Not sure whether he's right or not, but he was pretty clear that that's how he feels.
