because

The 'true fans' comment at the end of last season was absolutely disgraceful for a start. He has the nerve to question the loyalty of the 20,000+ who turn up week in, week out to watch the dross he was serving up. Piss off you tosser.

And then of course there is the damage he has done to this club by sticking around long after he was welcome (for which the board must take a lot of the balme too). Hamilton had the decency to resign when he realised he wasn't up to it, but not good old loyal Nigel - he stuck around for as long as possible to collect his 600k. He got our fans fighting amongst themselves and many fans no longer trust the board.

He squandered our year in the premiership with his poor signings, team selection and useless tactics and then wasted two years of parachute payments on poor signings. We are pretty much back where we started when he took over. A lower championship side with a lot of quality players needed and a lot of poor ones to ship out.

I don't think he did 'provide' us with one of the best seasons ever. He failed to sign the players he wanted, we had injuries and then he signed Hucks. Hucks provided us with a great season and he will forever be a legend for it. Obviously Worthington deserves some of the credit for that season, but that doesn't nearly make up for the bad he has done in the three years since then.
